[Announcements]

Hi, everyone! With the beginning of Glymmer's first event comes a few quick mod announcements!
✬ With the exception of this post right here or any other special circumstances, announcements will be posted on the first of each month alongside AC.

✬ Speaking of AC! The game's first activity check will run from May 1 to May 7, 6:00 PM CST. However, since you all apped in April and April was a short month, all you will have to do is check in for your first AC! There won't be a need to link threads for this first round; you all get a freebie month.

✬ And with that comes a very minor change in our AC policy: every new applicant gets an AC pass for the very first month they're in the game. That means if someone applies in May, no matter when in May they join the game, they won't have to do May AC. Their AC requirements will begin in June.

✬ Right now Glymmer is a smaller game with a slower pace, and because of that I do want to make sure the game's pacing jives with everyone's RP energy! Right now, I have it so that missions roll over at the beginning of the month. My question for the playerbase at large is this: would you all like more than one month to complete missions? My thought was perhaps I could make missions bi-monthly instead of monthly so that you (and your characters) have two months to plan and execute them, but I'd like to get your input on this! Please vote in the poll below to give me your thoughts on mission pacing for the game ♥

Please vote by April 30, 6:00 PM CST so I know how to schedule things for next month!

✬ Our lovely players Tanz and Chip have helped create a spreadsheet for keeping track of characters' amnesia names! Please feel free to fill this out for everyone's OOC reference.

✬ There's a new Resource Page that includes links to the above spreadsheet, as well as profile codes for player convenience.

✬ You may have noticed that some people are tagging their posts with their characters. Please feel free to do this with yours! If you do, format the tag as Canon Name: Character Name. I've already done a sweep and added everyone myself to all existing posts, so this is just an FYI for the future!
And that's it for OOC announcements! And now, for the IC ones:
Here is a link to the game's first event post. Feel free to mingle in the event post however you please, and be on the lookout for a brief NPC post on April 30 to close out the event! The NPC in this post will not stick around to speak with characters afterwards.
And that is everything! As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to email me or hit me up on the Q&A page. Thank you everyone for making the first month of this game such a good one!

Staying at this length would be my preference, but it isn't a strong one! I'd be fine with bi-monthly missions as well.

I'd prefer monthly missions - speaking just for myself, having the hook to play is helpful, and I think my interaction with the game might trend too slow for myself if it wasn't there.

The game is small and on the slower side, but events encourage activity, so once a month is still fine I should think!

Hard to say without having gone a full month for a mission yet but I'm voting for keeping it to one month.

I'd prefer for missions to be monthly! Pretty much for reasons already noted. Once we all settle in and get past intro threads a bit more, I think the monthly missions is a good incentive to thread and keep momentum.

I'd prefer to keep missions month-to-month, but since new characters can come in at any time, would it be feasible to extend the heist turn-in period for a character's first month as well? So if it's 'steal a window' in May and 'steal a door' in June, and your character comes in near the end of May, you can turn in 'steal a window' for June as well as the regular 'steal a door' mission!

I feel like that might make it easier for newbies so that if they come in, say, with a week or ten days before the end of the month, they don't need to think 'oh no, that's not enough time to plan and arrange and play out a heist before the requirements change, better wait until it rolls over'!

I don't really have much to add, but I'm seconding all of the above.

This is a great idea and I also agree with all of this!

I was torn because of this but some flexibility with turn-in to help people who are rolling in a bit later seems like a good idea, even if it's just for starting out.

Sort of related to [personal profile] rootbound's idea, I noticed between the game's slow pace and characters (and players) adjusting, a lot of people have prioritized non-mission intro threads and getting their character established over the missions. I think a little bit of a grace period for turn-in into the next month while still having next month's missions might help; in that people who have been threading out missions at a slower pace can still turn them in and people who were not feeling last month's missions can just move onto May's mission.

(Tho I realize this is...effectively the same suggestion since we ALL apped in April at this point and are all new but basically I feel the need to use my own words after a +1 apparently.)
